My Story – @Carolines_mummy

1. How do you find time to recharge your creativity while balancing the demands of being a mum?

I try to balance motherhood, work, house chores, and staying active on social media, which can be challenging, but I’ve found little pockets of time that work for me. Sometimes it’s during Caroline’s playtime or after my daughter goes to bed. I also make it a point to surround myself with things that inspire me – whether it’s other creators I admire, trending audios, or even just a funny moment that happened during the day. My reels often come from the humorous, real-life situations I experience as a mum and wife. I’ve found that my creativity comes easier when I don’t force it or stress, but instead, draw inspiration from the simple, funny moments of everyday life.

2. If you could collaborate with anyone as a content creator, who would it be and what would the content look like?

If I could collaborate with anyone, it would be @Mummyinahurry. She’s a Maltese mum of three, who works and is incredibly honest, genuine, and down to earth. I think we’d make a great team creating a funny, relatable series about the daily struggles and joys of motherhood – like trying to get the kids ready while managing a career, or those hilarious miscommunications with our partners. The content would be real, and full of laughs, showing the beautifully messy reality of family life.

3. Describe your most ‘chaotic’ filming day. What did you learn from it?

My most chaotic filming day was when I decided to film all my reels and content for the week in just one day. I spent hours changing outfits and trying to memorize lines for each reel. At one point, I was so mixed up that I ended up uploading a bad version of a reel without editing it by mistake. I learned that I’d never do that again! Now I plan my filming more carefully and never film more than two.

4. How do you balance authenticity with creating content that is highly polished? Is there a sweet spot?

I try to find a balance by focusing on creating videos that I can relate to. My goal is to produce funny, relatable content that’s easy to understand and brings a smile. I believe there’s a sweet spot where simplicity meets humor, and my content often highlights those little everyday moments that every woman can easily relate to. It’s about capturing the realness of life while keeping it light and entertaining.

5. What’s your secret to staying creatively energized, especially on days when nothing seems to go right?

I believe the best approach is to allow myself to take breaks when needed. Unfortunately, there are days when I go missing, especially when I’m overwhelmed. Those breaks give me the personal time to recharge. I’ve learned that when things aren’t going right, it’s best to slow down and step back until I feel like myself again. Whether it’s feeling unwell, dealing with my period, or juggling responsibilities, sometimes I need to pause for a few hours or days. When I come back, I often feel refreshed and more motivated to create.

6. What’s a common myth about being a content creator that you’d like to debunk?

This is a tough question, but maybe some may think that being a content creator is easy and not ‘real’. The truth is, while we try to present authentic versions of our lives, it’s not always easy. There’s a lot of research, planning, filming, and editing involved in every post, and it can be very time and energy consuming. Perfection isn’t real, and we aim to be as honest as possible, which can be challenging at times.

7. How has your content evolved over time?

I’ve learned to lip sync better to the audio, use filters, and edit my content more effectively over time. I’ve also started using more trending audio, which has helped me gain more views and create more engaging content. To enhance my visuals, I’ve invested in some equipment to improve the image quality of my content. Sometimes, I even use artificial intelligence to assist me. I try to vary the themes I cover, focusing on different aspects of motherhood and womanhood to keep things fresh and relatable.

8. What is a good piece of advice you’ve received that helped your content?

The best piece of advice I received was to always stay true to myself and be honest with both myself and my followers. By keeping my feet on the ground and sharing my life in my stories, I’ve created a stronger sense of connection with my audience.

9. If you could leave a lasting impact or message with your content what would you want it to be?

All I want to do is make others smile. I want to show that you don’t have to look perfect, wear makeup every day, or dress in beautiful clothes to be happy. Life is not perfect, and we don’t have to be either. It’s important to love yourself just as you are, enjoy your daily life, and learn to laugh—even at yourself.

I’m interested in collaborations related to products used by young girls, such as clothing, hair accessories and school supplies. I’m also keen on products used by mothers, including self-care items, household products and comfortable yet stylish fashion. Additionally, collaborations involving food, home essentials and home decorations would be a great fit for my content, as they align with my daily life as a mum.
