The POWER of POSITIVITY and all else in between!
Is it Luck or Outlook?!
So, is it just me or have we all had those moments when something has not gone as planned and our first though is “Why am I so unlucky?!” or “Why is it always me?” Well, same girl same! Unfortunately in todays life the stresses are 24/7 365. But what control do we have? In this blog post I am going to tell you how changing my mindset changed my life, 360! I’ll share with you my journey of adopting a positive mindset and all the in-between that most “positive speakers” don’t mention.
Why is a positive mindset so important?
Ok, listen I am not saying I prance around like a fairy granting peoples wishes all day and living in lala land. I know that unwanted situations pop up when we least expect and it is only human that your emotions will be harder to have under control. But, this is exactly why training ourselves to have a more positive mindset is key. When you find yourself in this kind of situation you have two choices in regards to how you react. Our brain is so set on finding the problem rather than the positive, sad but true.
How do thoughts and emotions effect our lives?
Just having a positive outlook on life is proven to reduce stress levels, improve mental resilience and over all mental health! There is a great documentary that goes more into detail about the health effects of positivity vs negativity. The documentary is called Heal and is certainly worth the watch. Now, I am not saying that I 100% stand by this as I am realistic and understand that not all situations are the same. When you think about how stress effects your body, this begins to make more sense. Stress has such a negative impact not only on the mind but also physically on your body. Positive emotions like excitement and joy can promote better physical health and longevity.
Tips for becoming more positive
- Gratitude Journaling: Write down three things you’re grateful for each day.
- Positive Affirmations: Start your day with positive affirmations to set a good tone and prepare you for an amazing day ahead.
- Mindfulness Practices: Engage in mindfulness practices like meditation to stay grounded.
The lotus flower theory
I am a huge believer in the lotus flower theory, so much so I have it tattooed. The lotus flower grows in muddy water, rising above the muck to bloom into something beautiful. Similarly, we can rise above our struggles and negativity by cultivating a positive mindset. And the results are incredible!
For me reflecting on the lotus really inspired me to persevere through difficult times and strive for self-improvement and enlightenment.
The conclusion
Life (for everyone) is filled with challenges, but it all comes down to how we respond to them and that is what truly defines our journey. Just like the lotus flower that rises from the muddy waters to blossom in beauty, we too can come out from our personal struggles with a newfound sense of strength and positivity. By embracing a positive mindset, we open the doors to endless opportunities and transform our reality. I personally can vouch for this and if I was to speak to myself five years ago she would be so proud of how far we have come!
Remember, it’s not about the cards you’re dealt, but how you play them. By focusing on the positives, appreciating the small things in life, and celebrating every win no matter how small, you can create a life filled with joy and gratitude. Yes, no doubt there will still be tough days, but with awareness and resilience, you can get through them with grace.
