We all love going to the hairdresser and sitting down, finally able to unwind, getting the much-needed perfect blow-dry.
But wouldn’t it be great if we could achieve the same look on a random Thursday just because we felt like it? Well, I have tried and tested and have finally found the magic recipe for the perfect at home blowdry.
Testing the wash before the blow-dry
For so many years, I thought that hairdressers used some kind of magic shampoo and conditioner or that their hairdryers were industrial power machines that we could never have at home.
I am most certainly not a girlie with a lot of time on her hands, nor do I want to be because quite frankly i’d probably go crazy! BUT I love my hair once I have had a fresh blow-dry!
First things first. The shampoo and conditioner you use WILL make a difference. This doesn’t mean you need to pay 50 euros a bottle! But, yes, you need to be selective and avoid certain kinds of products that, to be blunt, will ruin your hair. I love to use products like Kevin Murphy, Evo and John Frieda.
Double-shampoo that hair! I know it takes more time, and you really need the extra arm strength, but just TRUST me! Secondly, scrub as if your life depends on it, something we do when washing our hair at home, is rush through one of the most important processes. The more foam, the better. I once heard a hairdresser say that if it’s not foamy, it’s not cleaning. Thirdly, condition the ends first; this is where you want to use most of the product, then work the roots at the end and rinse it thoroughly.
Bonus products you can apply.
I am a girl who is always in a hurry and half of the time forgets to use my ‘extra’ products BUT when I do remember to use them the blowdry is on a whole other level!
So, I recently tried out the color WOW dream coat. As it says on the bottle WOW! I was so impressed, my hair felt amazing looked even better. Another product I love to use is the evo ICON WELDER heat protection spray.
